lautten compagney BERLIN meets Quechua Rap and contemporary Music from Latin America
The lautten compagney BERLIN, one of the most renowned ensembles for historical performance practice, examines the possibilities of music beyond the colonial canon. The starting point are the collections of the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art with many instruments and the Phonogram Archive. The second concert project in the MUSICAL BELONGINGS series explores with the musical traditions and colonisation of South America. Together with the Quechua Rap Queen Renata Flores from Peru and the composer Ana María Romano G. from Colombia, the lautten compagney BERLIN has developed an extraordinary musical programme: Quechua rap, contemporary music and electro-acoustic music meet old music of European tradition.
