Behind the seemingly immobile objects in the museum are moving biographies. These often unknown and, from today’s perspective, sometimes problematic stories of collecting, traveling, categorizing and exhibiting are the subject of the guided tour: Where do the objects come from? How did they get to Berlin? In what ways did they change hands? How were they received and exhibited in Berlin? What significance do they have today for the societies of origin?
