A “symphony of becoming and passing away”: the projections on the baroque reconstructed north façade of the Humboldt Forum present central questions of being. They play with the themes and images of the special exhibition in_finite. Living with Death.
Our approach to death and dying is as diverse as we humans ourselves. Our relationship to death is reflected in almost all areas of everyday life, even if we are often not aware of it. Where do I actually come from? What phase of life am I in? How much time do I have left? And do I really have any influence on the answer? Who am I grieving for and who will grieve for me? On the occasion of the “Festival of Lights 2023”, the Humboldt Forum presents impressions from the multi-layered special exhibition in_finite. Living with Death as an associative visual experience on the north façade. Based on Georg Lendorff’s light installation “Cosmos Biosphere: Symphony of Becoming and Passing”, the large projection leads through various aspects of the theme. The colourful projection merges with the building to create a visual experience that encourages the viewer to pause for a moment and reflect on the fleeting nature of life.
