Alien Body – Ukrainian electronic band made up of musician Bodya Konakov and singer Alian Core, originally from Kyiv, currently based in London.
Their music can be described as trancepunk – it’s a mix of utopian psychedelic trance synths with dystopian punk noise about global problems
of humanity, ecology and our future on Earth.
Alien Body was formed during the pandemic in 2020 from the desire to call for changes in a world that face the point of no return. It’s why Alien Body is between a dystopian disaster and a utopian fairy tale. Even more, some lyrics occasionally predicted the war in Ukraine, that happens now and it shows deep empathy and reflection on what is going on in our world.
In February 2022, Alien Body released their first single called Мрія (Mriya) which was dedicated to the biggest aircraft in the world built by Ukraine and destroyed by russian occupants. This song also was created before the war, so when they bombed it Alien Body decided to release the song
to raise funds for Ukrainian defenders. This song was covered by Pitchfork magazine and also raised a lot of attention on social media.
From that moment the band is finishing recording their first album and had live performances in London’s iconic Cafe Oto, played warm-up performance before Machine Girl band at the Ephemera Festival in Warsaw made by Unsound, and at some other music festivals around Europe. They make expansive live show as well as playing DJ-sets with forward-thinking electronic music.
