Chrisa Lazariotou has dedicated herself to the manifold sounds of the Mediterranean region, not only collecting melodies and songs, but also bringing together the most diverse musicians to interpret them in ever new ways. At the center of her many musical projects is the longing and commonality of Mediterranean musical traditions. In “Balkanatolian Whispers” she traces the interconnections between musical traditions from the Balkans to Greece and Anatolia and presents a fusion of traditional and modern Greek, Turkish and Arabic music with jazz, rock, psychedelic elements.
