Experimental traditional sounds. The chamber ensemble of the Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos (ECOEIN) from Bolivia is composed of seven musicians, who play experimental music on Andean instruments, such as pan flutes. The ECOEIN constructs cultural spaces in which indigenous and Western music cultures meet in a creative exchange. The musicians are mainly teenagers and young adults who revive old music traditions together with local communities using historical music recordings. Their appearances as part of 24h OPEN provide insights into their collaboration with the music and media archive of the Ethnologisches Museum.
Experience the ECOEIN as part of the warm-up of the Sauer Power Club Night in a one-hour concert on Friday 16 September at 5 p.m.
On Saturday 17 September and on Sunday 18 September you can hear the ECOEIN in the Stair Hall playing short musical interludes.
