The impressiv sound of the Ghanaian-born musician Selassie is hard to pin down – it has been described as “jazz-like,” full of cuts and changes, long arcs and fine lines that take listeners in and out of the world. He’s all about emotion, and he doesn’t allow himself to be constrained by genres. With his playful approach and nonchalant poetic delivery, he creates a rare sonic texture with a style that he describes as “a transparent conversation with himself.”
