Originally started as a live band for the legendary Paradise Bangkok club nights in the Thai capital, the six-piece Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band today delights international audiences from the Glastonbury Festival to the Boiler Room with their interpretation of molam: a traditional music and dance genre from Laos and the Isan region of northeast Thailand. The group mixes this molam with Thai pop gems from the 1960s and 1970s and a good pinch of psychedelic rock.
Their live shows are famous for the exuberant joy of playing and the brilliant solos of sawai and phin virtuoso Kammao Perdtanon, who is able to play these traditional Thai instruments at breathtaking speed.
