Over the past five years, the Edible Cities Network project has been working towards making cities around the world better places to live through the integration of Edible City Solutions (ECS) in our cities – from urban gardens to vertical farms and community kitchens. At the final project meeting participants will talk about best practices and lessons learned during the project lifetime – together with representatives of the thirty-two consortium partners, including universities, research institutes, local city administrations, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and other Edible City Initiatives from around the world.

During the event the six City Teams who designed and implemented different ECS in their Living Labs will talk about their projects – from community-supported agriculture programmes and water recycling technologies to networking strategies for green city initiatives. Representatives of the other six City Teams will offer insights into co-developed Edible City Master Plans to tackle societal challenges in their very own specific urban contexts. They will also explore how to sustain the network in the future, once the project is over.

The event will be held in English and will be continued at a different location on the next day. The meeting place on 5 September will be the New St. Jacobi Cemetery at Hermannstraße 99-105, 12051 Berlin.
