The clearly bisexual representation of the figure of an ancestral spirit from Papua New Guinea invites speculation. Is this a transsexual spirit being? What cultural concepts of gender roles and gender ascriptions existed and exist there today? In this dialogue-based lecture format, the aim is to get to know new perspectives on these topics and at the same time to question our own categorisations of “gender” and thus also our concepts of persons in general.
