Jerome and José met around 1998 as battle opponents at hip hop jams. Today they are buddies and give this workshop for you in the WELTSTUDIO of the exhibition BERLIN GLOBAL. In the workshop Jerome will show basics like Toprock, Footwork’s, Freeze’s and Powermoves. José brings electric boogie moves from the early days of breakdancing. They will also talk about their hip hop history, which began in East and West Berlin.

Jerome first came into contact with breakdancing in 1981 in East Berlin through Western media. When the film “Beat Street” was shown in cinemas in 1984, his passion really took off. In 1998, he founded the crew Trick 17 with his dance students.
Besides B-Boying, Popping & Locking-Dancer, Jerome is also a Graffiti Writer.

José started breakdancing in West Berlin in 1983 when he saw dancers on Ku’Damm. From 1988 onwards, he and his crew took it more seriously and had many performances, battles and tours. José also organises hip hop jams and dance battles.
