Evolutionary adaptations take time and the formation of characteristics in the context of an ecosystem can be overtaken by environmental changes. At Meet the Scientist, forest scientist and plant biologist Marcel Robischon talks about plants that are still adapted to environmental factors of the past and looks at trees with “wild memories and great expectations”.

Prof. Marcel Robischon is a forest scientist, plant biologist and head of the Department of Agroecology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His scientific focus is agroecology, especially the developmental biology and ecology of woody plants. In addition, he deals with the world’s natural and agricultural heritage in agricultural teaching.
