Could psychedelic substances be an alternative treatment to pharmaceutical drugs with their many side-effects? What are the differences between Psilocybin – better known as “Magic Mushrooms” – and anti-depressants? And how could LSD help in a phenomenon called “ego-death”?
Neuroscientist Prateep Beed is a researcher at Berlin’s Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin who specialises in Serotonin – a key chemical for brain functions that regulates mood, anxiety and happiness. On the occasion of “Brain Awareness Week”, he will give visitors insights into his research at the NeuroCure installation in the Humboldt Lab.
Prateep Beed is a neuroscientist and works at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He looks back on 15 years of professional experience. Besides working on neural circuits, he is interested in science communication. He enjoys explaining to the public how research is conducted in the neurosciences.
