Travel through galaxies with robots, develop fantasy worlds and explore them with VR goggles, make apples meow, expose fake news to get out of an Escape Room or play Tetris on a giant LED tower: Code Week hands-on festival at the Humboldt Forum!

On October 12, 2024, Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss, in cooperation with Verbund der Öffentlichen Bibliotheken Berlins (VÖBB) and the Code Week Regio Hub Berlin, is once again inviting you to tinker, hack and program together. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. there will be a varied program for children, teenagers and adults.

Ticket information

This year, it is necessary to book a free time slot ticket to visit the hands-on activities in the Workshops (recommended for ages 5 and up) and in Hall 2 (recommended for ages 10 and up)!

The ticket entitles you to enter either the Workshops or Hall 2 at the beginning of the booked time slot. Please check our website in advance to find out about the respective program. Tickets are available online or at the box office in the foyer of the Humboldt Forum. Please book one ticket per person. Remaining tickets are available at the box office on the day of the event. Children up to the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Activities for Ages 5 and up in the Workshops – with time slot tickets

Send Ozobots on a journey through time at the Humboldt Forum, create your own Jump’n’Run game, develop a story with Scratch, learn how a 3D printer works and program with Osmo, Calliope and Makey Makey. In the Workshops on the first floor of the Humboldt Forum, many different hands-on stations invite you to playfully gain your first experience in programming and try out digital tools suitable for children. For children aged 2 and over, there are a play area, a slide and giant building blocks to discover.

Activities for Ages 10 and up in Hall 2 – with time slot tickets

Design imaginative vegetables with AI, produce stamps and stencils in the laser cutter, discover long-forgotten retro games, sample and visualize experimental sounds, become your own digital avatar and solve mechanical puzzles in the Escape Room. Hall 2 on the ground floor of the Humboldt Forum offers a diverse hands-on program where young people and adults can learn about current technological developments and get creative themselves.

Activities for everyone on Schlossplatz and in the Foyer – just drop by

Play Tetris on the Humboldt Forum’s largest screen, the giant LED tower in the foyer. Discover the mixed reality installation of the CyberRäuber and find out how the “Palace of Memory” was created with AI. Test your digital knowledge at the quiz session in the Mechanical Arena in the Foyer (2 to 4 pm). Train robots to play soccer and draw in the MakerMobil of the Stadtbibliothek Mitte on the Schlossplatz.
