In this comedy, Congolese superstar Papa Wemba plays young Kourou, who arrives in Kinshasa without money or connections, determined to become a musician. He hires on as a domestic servant for a nouveau riche family and falls in love with Kabibi, second wife of his boss. Inspired by the musician’s biography, the film is also a portrait of the shimmering Congolese capital and a tribute to the art of living of its inhabitants.
