The social dimension in images of people, animals and plants from 17th to 19th century Japan is the focus of this exhibition tour. We encounter familiar patterns of battle of the sexes in chickens, look at dressed-up parrots and reserved sparrows and fish with distinct personalities and well-organized swarms.
