The Children’s Hand Press, based in the historic print shop of the FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum, is moving into mobile quarters at the Humboldt Forum for the Weekend for Democracy. Two hand lever presses, linocut tools and typographic poster lettering will be on hand. Think, design, carve and print!
The printing trade and its products – leaflets, posters, newspapers – have always been closely linked to democratic processes. At the “printing island” we will try out this form of visualization in a simple way: what is produced moves directly from the press to the exhibition walls, and a collaborative collage is created from individual elements.
We ask for registration for participation, as the places on the “Druckinsel” are limited.
