To mark the 175th anniversary of the March Revolution of 1848, BERLIN GLOBAL invites you to a conversation on the diversity of opinions during the revolutions of 1848 and 1989/90. How did Berliners envision the future of their society as these dramatic events unfolded around them? What did they do with their newly won freedom of expression and freedom of the press? What hopes and demands did they express in Berlin and what were the consequences of their protests? In the “Revolution” room, live speakers will draw on historical posters (1848), banners and protest signs (1989/90) to illustrate the lively exchanges that took place on the streets of Berlin and engage in dialogue with visitors.
